The Onset Bay Association is on track to reach its $40,000 goal to host the Fourth of July fireworks display, the group’s Executive Director Kat Jones announced Tuesday.

“I feel confident that we’ll reach that goal with the help of the community, of course,” Jones told Selectmen.

The nonprofit has to raise an additional $10,000 to put on the display, scheduled for Saturday, July 7, at Onset Bay. The rain date is July 8. Festivities will be held from 9 to 11 p.m.

Jones noted that a $9,750 deposit has already been paid to the company hired to put on the display. Currently, the association has coin canisters located throughout town to accept donations.
