Former Cranberry Cottage restaurant torn down
May 16, 2018
What was left of the Cranberry Cottage restaurant was torn down on Tuesday, nine months after a fire gutted the building.
In August, a fire tore through the building causing an estimated $500,000 in damages. According to Wareham Fire officials, the cause of the fire was listed as accidental.
Located at 246 Marion Road, the 70-year-old restaurant was purchased by Chandara Chuon and his wife, Sophea, in 2017 from former owner John Coneeny who retired. The couple moved to Buzzards Bay from Lowell to operate the restaurant. They plan to open a new restaurant at the site sometime this year.
