Klueber keeps seat following Onset Fire District election
Prudential Committee member Charles Klueber earned a third, three-year term on the Prudential Committee in the Onset Fire District election Tuesday. Klueber and challenger Nancy Miller, who heads the Onset Protective League, which hosts a candidate’s forum each year, ran in the election’s only contested race.
According to initial results, Klueber earned 47 votes to Miller’s 20.
Frank Kowzic, who was running unopposed for a seat on the Board of Water Commissioners, earned 53 votes.
No candidates returned nomination papers for the position of moderator. However, current Moderator Robert Brousseau received 23 write-in votes.
The district, which provides water and fire service, is governed independently from the town. The Wareham Fire District, a separate entity, provides those same services for Wareham residents and is also self-governed.
