LIBRARY FOUNDATION OFFERS THANKS!

Jun 21, 2018

The Wareham Library Foundation would like to thank everyone involved in this year's Annual author Series WITH Tracy Kidder. It was a great success!

The evening began with a free discussion and book signing at the Wareham Free Library to a packed meeting room! Mr. Kidder delighted the audience with his behind-the-scenes tales of writing his books. Trekking around the world at times, to follow the subjects of his nonfiction publications, his stories kept the audience both enthralled and entertained!

Then on to the Marriott Suites at Rosebrook for the second portion of the evening. Diners enjoyed a delicious meal while chatting with other library lovers/supporters.

Tracy Kidder was then interviewed by local NPR personality, Naomi Arenberg. The question and answer period focused more broadly on the writing process and the author's use of prose in nonfiction. On the subject of libraries, Mr. Kidder declared that "People desperately need libraries. They're such a valuable part of their communities." That comment prompted a loud and heartfelt applause!

As Mr. Kidder was leaving the event, he was given a basket filled with "cranberry goodies and items" to remember his visit to bog country.
