On July 27, the Wareham Animal Control Division of the Department of Natural Resources responded to a reported injured swan. The swan was captured and transported to the Cape Wildlife Center for treatment.

Center employees removed a fishing hook and line, which was wrapped around the swan’s neck and treated the animal for feather lice.

After an examination, the swan was determined to be healthy enough for release.
