Roberta L. Baptiste, 73, of Wareham, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, peacefully at her home with her family at her bedside.

Born in Acushnet, she was the daughter of Beatrice T. Fernandes of Marion and the late Ralph Pina. Mrs. Baptiste worked as housekeeping supervisor for the former Forestview Nursing Home in Wareham and Brandon Woods in New Bedford.

She is survived by her children, Wayne S. Baptiste of Wareham, Karl S. Baptiste of Onset, Walter Baptiste, III of Wareham and Jodi L. Baptiste of Wareham; her brother and sisters, Jeanne Barboza of Georgia, Patricia Fernandes of Wareham, Paulette Harris and Terry Lopes both of Las Vegas, Nevada, Michelle Fernandes of Wareham, Mary Ann Silva and her husband Jack of Wareham, Ralph “Bubba” Pina of Raynham, Sylvester “Lester” Pina of Onset, and James Pina and John Pina both of New Bedford; her cousin, Louise “Peggy” Roberts of Buzzards Bay; her grandchildren, Colby A. Santos, Jr., Karl S. “K.J.” Baptiste, Jr., and Sage M. Baptiste; her great grandson, Colby A. “C.J.”, Jr., and her step-mother, Alice M. Pina of Wareham. She was predeceased by her brother and sister, the late Robert Andrews and Emily Viera; and her granddaughter, the late Kourtney Viera.

Funeral services will be private.
