Wareham Police seized a large quantity of fireworks after receiving multiple complaints on Wednesday, Aug. 2 from residents at the Woods at Wareham complex.

Officers Eric Machado and Blaise Lalli responded to the area around 7:30 p.m. Upon arrival, Machado and Lalli found the parking lot of the complex covered with spent fireworks casings.

Following an investigation, police said the officers later confiscated a large amount of fireworks from a car found in the lot.

Danilson Pires-Brito, 30, of West Wareham is now being summoned to court for the charge of illegal possession of fireworks.

Massachusetts is one of four states with a full fireworks ban. If convicted, Pires-Brito could be fined up to $100.
