Wareham Police invite public to outreach event set for Sept. 8

The Wareham Police Association will celebrate a public safety event on Saturday, Sept. 8, at the high school track on Viking Drive. The free event will run from 2 to 5 p.m. as a community-building campaign where the public can meet police officers and public safety partners.
There will a DJ, jumpies, arts and crafts, face painting, hot dogs, hamburgers, drinks and snacks. Multiple public safety agencies will be displaying equipment at the event and there will be a K-9 demonstration and fingerprinting for kids.
Some of the agencies involved include Wareham Police, Wareham Fire, Onset Fire, Wareham EMS, Wareham Department of Natural Resources, Wareham Department of Public Works, Plymouth County Sheriff, Plymouth County District Attorney and Massachusetts State Police.
There will also be a free raffle for a $700 kayak donated to the Police Association from John Fine of Go-Bananas. Businesses who wish to support the event may send donations to the Police Association at the Wareham Police Department.
