Suspected bank robber and getaway driver arrested in Wareham
A suspected bank robber and his getaway driver are in police custody after they were captured by Wareham Police on Saturday afternoon.
Bree Doyle, 28 of Maine, and her male passenger, 36-year-old Jason Wamboldt of East Falmouth are charged with armed robbery in connection with a bank robbery that occurred in Pocasset earlier Saturday, according to a press release issued by the Bourne Police Department.
Witnesses at the scene told Bourne Police that a white male had held up the TD Bank on Barlows Landing Road in Pocasset, according to the press release.
Bourne Police said Wamboldt left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money and drove off in a black sedan with a New Jersey registration operated by a white female. Wamboldt also had an outstanding warrant for motor vehicle violations.
According to Wareham Police Public Information Officer Bill Fihlman, the stop was made by veteran officer Paul Somers. Back-up was also provided by additional Wareham sector cars.
In addition to Wareham, area police departments including Mashpee, Falmouth, Sandwich, Plymouth, and the State Police, along with the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office were notified to be on the lookout for the suspects.
