Ida-May Mattson, 75
Ida-May A. Mattson, 75, of Buzzards Bay died Sunday, Oct. 7 at her home after a long illness. She was the wife of Allen H. Mattson.
Born in Newark, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Eleanor (Halpin) DeVoursney. A previous resident of Holbrook, she also lived in Bridgewater and Wareham before moving to Buzzards Bay. Mrs. Mattson was a homemaker.
While in Holbrook, along with her husband, she was a youth advisor for the Methodist Youth Fellowship. She also provided a foster home for many children.
After her husband’s retirement, they spent 9 years traveling throughout the country by recreational vehicle.
Survivors include her husband Allen H. Mattson; her sons, David Mattson of East Taunton and CSM Robert Mattson, USA of Ft. Polk, LA; her daughter, Christine Hebert of East Taunton, 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rt. 28), Wareham at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Cedar Knoll Cemetery, East Taunton. Visiting hours will be Monday, Oct. 15 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
