Turning Point thankful for volunteer spirit year round

Dec 17, 2018

To the Editor:

Christmas is a time of the year that makes people smile at the sight of decorations and a child’s anticipation of things to come. That time of year that makes people hold a door open for a fellow shopper and for a “thank you” to be reciprocated.

I have had the distinct pleasure of seeing this sentiment displayed every day for the past year by the volunteers here at Turning Point.

These volunteers give freely of their time to come into an office to offer not only assistance, but a genuine willingness to listen. To offer a judgement-free half hour or so of empathy and understanding. A Christmas sentiment all year long if you will. And that is something special.

Thank you: Barbara, Geri, Nancy, Jane, Janet, Mary and Ted for all you do and all you have done. For making a difference in people’s lives and for making our community a better place to live for everyone.
