Vikings boys aren't the only hoops stars!

2 big wins propel Lady Vikings into the playoffs

The Wareham Vikings girls basketball team downed the Seekonk Warriors on Tuesday, February 2nd by a score of 61-33.  The "Lady Vikings" had little problem stopping the Warriors attack and trailed only once in the early part of the first quarter.  Senior Christine O'Toole led the Vikings with 21 points, and sophomore Lexi Silvia added 12 points to guide the team to the win.

The most important win of the week was Friday night at Dighton-Rehoboth, however, when the Vikings sealed a spot in the state tournament with a 56-53 win.  The Vikings were led by Lexi Silvia with 14 points and Brianna King with 13 in the tight victory.  This will be the team's first trip to the playoffs in 5 years. 

The wins this week bring the Vikings to a record of 10-7 overall and 8-5 in the South Coast Conference.
