Video added Monday: Tropical Storm Irene causes widespread damage

A weakened Irene, downgraded from a hurricane to a tropical storm, caused widespread damage across the region on Sunday, August 28.
Emergency officials in Wareham and Onset responded to numerous reports of downed trees and power lines. The storm left many residents without power.
Irene was downgraded to tropical storm status on Sunday morning as it swept through the New York area.
