Road closures during the Annual Oyster Festival

May 24, 2019

On Sunday, May 26, 2019, the Annual Oyster Festival, Duck Tace and 5K road race will be held in downtown Wareham.

Wareham Police Chief John A. Walcek reminded town residents that between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Main Street will be closed from Sawyer Street to Center Street.

The 5K road race will begin at 10 a.m. Runners will run through Main Street, High Street, Marion Road, and Warr Avenue.

People attending the event are asked to park at the Town Hall, on 54 Marion Road. Shuttles will be running throughout the day to transfer visitors to and from the event area.

“The Wareham Police Department wishes everyone a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day weekend, while keeping in mind the extreme sacrifice soldiers and their families have made for our freedom,” said Walcek.
