UPDATE: Two people injured after car crashes into CVS
Two people were injured, one of them seriously, when a vehicle collided with the CVS Pharmacy on Cranberry Highway in East Wareham around 9:40 p.m. on Tuesday, November 22.
According to Wareham Police, the a Kia sedan crashed into the front entrance of the pharmacy, striking a 45-year-old female. The woman, who was not immediately identified by police, was transported to Tobey Hospital with a serious leg injury, police said.
A female passenger in the vehicle, also not immediately identified, sustained a head injury and was also transported to Tobey Hospital, police said.
Police said the driver of the car, identified as 55-year-old Diane Cote-Diaz of Plymouth, was in the process of parking the car at the time of the accident. Cote-Diaz was uninjured. She was cited by Officer Bryan Whalen for operating to endanger.
A town building inspector was called to the scene to examine the building.
In addition to Wareham Police, Wareham EMS and the Wareham Fire Department responded to the accident.
