Help stuff a police cruiser with toys for kids
The Wareham Police Department, in conjunction with Wareham Crossing, will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for the Dick Melloni Youth Foundation from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 11 during the mall's annual Holiday Happenings celebration. The toys will be loaded into a Wareham Police Cruiser to see if they can stuff it full of holiday gifts.
Radio station 92.9 will be hosting a tree lighting and prize party on-sit, with host Jason Rossi joining Santa's Helpers in decorating the Lowe's Christmas tree, giving away prizes to shoppers and welcoming Santa to the center for a ceremonial tree lighting at sundown. The grand prize giveaway will be a $500 gift card, plus a one-night stay at The Inn on Onset Bay. Additional prizes consist of offerings from Wareham Crossing retailers.
Shoppers and Holiday Happenings attendees will also get the chance to hear Victorian carolers singing holiday songs in stores and along the walkways, as well as horse-drawn rides to different shopping locations throughout the outdoor mall. Following the tree lighting, Santa will be at the Lowe's Winter Wonderland from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Parents are encouraged to use their own cameras and Lowe's will provide treats for the children.
