Anne Campbell

Apr 17, 2021

Anne Campbell passed away on Tuesday, April 13th, in peace and comfort. She is reunited with her husband, Donald James Campbell, Sr.

Anne and Don were loved and respected for their generosity and kindness. They would always help a traveler or someone in need. Recognized with many awards from both the town and state, they were civic minded and participated in the Open Space Committee, helped film town meetings, helped organize Candidates’ Nights, and were on the Oak Grove School Association, Onset Protective League and the Spinney Memorial Library.

Anne graduated with an associate degree while raising 3 boys and helping her husband in business. She played competitive tennis on A and B teams in Lexington, Newton, and Wareham. They owned and raced cars, snow skied, cooked up a storm, grew vegetables, and could swing a hammer!

She was a loyal friend and someone who people sought out for counsel. She came from a family of competent, smart, entrepreneurial women.

Anne and Don began sailing, boating and shell fishing when they purchased a summerhouse in Onset in 1968 with her sister Connie. That cottage overflowed with memories, great food, and family gatherings of aunts, uncles and cousins. They were ready to retire when they purchased the Depot Auto Services in the 80s and began another career.

Anne is predeceased by her husband, Donald James; her sisters, Constance Patriarca Lacasse, Susan Mongeon, Eleanor Biotti, and her brothers, Peter and Salvator Boccadoro.

She is survived by her sons, Donald Jr., Stephen and Michael; her daughter in-law, Jeanne MacGuire; and her brother and sister in-law, Frank Biotti and Peg Kokas, and her many dear nieces, nephews and loved ones.

We are grateful to her friends, Jimmy Walker, Barbara Gregg and Rebecca Sanford that made her last years so full, wholesome and serene.

We slowly lost our mother and friend and thank Cape Cod Healthcare and the Alzheimer’s Support Group for the education and their support and Cranberry Hospice in her final days.

A service and celebration will be held in the future.

In the spirit of her generosity and memory, please consider a donation to the Spinney Memorial Library in Onset and its mission to support children’s literacy by donating to:

“Friends of the Wareham Free Library”, P.O. Box 735, Wareham, MA 02571. Please write “Spinney” in the memo line.
