Friday, August 13
Play bingo.
The Swifts Beach Improvement Association hosts kids bingo nights on Fridays, starting at 7 p.m.
Bingo nights are open to the public and are held at Voss Hall, 38 Pleasant St.
Saturday, August 14
Shop a flea market.
Wareham American Legion Post 220 will be sponsoring its 42nd annual flea market from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The market will be held at the post headquarters at 777 Main Street (at the corner of Main Street and Tobey Road). Indoor and outdoor activities will be available.
Sunday, August 15
Picnic at the VFW.
The Cape Verdean Picnic will be held at the VFW in Onset from 2 to 7 p.m. Attending the picnic will cost $10 and children under 12 will be free.
Amilton Tavares and Band will entertain. Candida Rose will perform as a guest artist. Lady K will DJ between sets.
There will be a raffle with $250, $100 and $50 prizes. There will also be a 50/50 raffle.
All proceeds from the picnic will go toward funding the 2022 Onset Cape Verdean Festival.
Go to a concert.
Music from Land’s End will host two chamber music concerts — one at 3 p.m. and the other at 5 p.m. — at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Wareham.
Both concerts will feature the same program, with Cynthia Roberts and Ariadne Daskalakis playing baroque violins, Phoebe Carrai on baroque cello and Sebastian Gottschick playing baroque viola. The musicians will perform works by Haydn, Bach, Frescobaldi and Scarlatti.
Entrance to the concerts is by donation at the door.
Tuesday, August 17
Attend children’s story time.
Garden and story time with Children’s Librarian Marcia Hickey will begin with garden time at 9 a.m., followed by story time at 9:30 a.m.
Weather permitting, children will be read a themed story and can make a craft. The event is held at the Main Library, located at 59 Marion Rd., Wareham.
