The Gateway Jr. Vikings hockey team saw their five game winning streak come to an end last friday night with a 5-2 loss against a tough Taunton team.

The Vikings made several great shots on net during an intense first period, but were denied by a very talented Taunton goal keeper.

Chase Cunningham, on the Vikings side, kept Taunton scoreless in the first period.

Going into the second period with a tie, Taunton managed to score two goals and take the lead.

In the third period, the Jr. Vikings got on the scoreboard with a goal from Alex Atkinson, assisted by Nick Elicier. Unfortunately, Taunton answered with another goal and yet another one. Late in the third period, Sean Fagan scored for the Vikings, unassisted. The boys dug in and battled hard, but ran out of time.
