Edward D. Maynard, 79, of Carver, died October 24, 2021, in the All American Assisted Living in Wareham. He was the husband of the late Janice S. (Clarke) Maynard and the son of the late Wallace L. and Louise (Buckley) Maynard.

He was born in Malden and lived in Wareham before moving to Carver. He graduated from Wareham High School.

Mr. Maynard was a Vietnam War Veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force.

He worked as a Toll Tester for Verizon for many years before retiring.

He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed target shooting, canoeing, fishing and taking walks with his dog. 

Survivors include his son, Christopher Maynard and his wife Donna of Wareham; his daughter, Lynn Maynard of Carver; 6 grandchildren, Leah M. Levesque, Sarah Anderson, Amber N., Mathew E., Scott A. and Michelle C. Maynard; 7 great grandchildren, Maria, Cassidy, Lucas, Kevin, Jacob, Meadow, and Madison. 

Visiting hours are from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2021, at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – WAREHAM, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham.

His funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021, at the funeral home.
