One hurt, two homes damaged in fire at Onset Trailer Park
One person suffered minor injuries and two mobile homes were damaged in a fire at Onset Trailer Park on the morning of Tuesday, Nov. 8.
The fire started towards the back end of trailer 17 between trailers 17 and 18 at 3036 Cranberry Highway. According to Onset Fire Department Captain Ryan Quinn, the department received multiple 911 calls from a caller located in trailer 17.
“The probable cause was improper disposal of smoking materials,” said Quinn.
There was minor damage to the trailers, but one trailer was deemed uninhabitable due to damage from the smoke. One individual had minor injuries from the fire, but refused transport to the hospital.
The fire was a working fire, meaning that outside departments were brought in to help. Both Wareham and Onset fire departments were at the scene while the Bourne department oversaw Onset’s office.
