George D. Tamburello, 75
STOUGHTON – George D. Tamburello (USAF, Ret.), 75, of Stoughton, formerly of Fairhaven and Buzzards Bay, died Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at his home unexpectedly. He was the husband of Jeanne (Taylor) Tamburello.
Born in Tacoma, WA, he was the son of the late Jasper and Florence (Bemer) Tamburello.
Mr. Tamburello served for 21 years in the U.S. Air Force. TSGT Tamburello was fire protection supervisor for the 42nd Civil Engineering Squadron, and his last duty station was Loring Air Force Base in Maine. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam, and received several decorations including the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross and Air Force Outstanding Unit Award. After his retirement from the Air Force, Mr. Tamburello worked as a civilian in the finance department for the Dept. of Defense at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford.
Mr. Tamburello was an avid Patriots fan and enjoyed trains and cruising.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Tamburello; his children, Kathy Tamburello and her partner Mark Durinsky, George Tamburello, II and his partner Melissa Kinser all of ME, and David Tamburello and his wife Michelle of TX; his siblings, Fred Tamburello, Kathy Mulholland and Chuck Tamburello all of WA. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Tues., Mar. 21, 2023 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – Wareham, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rt. 28), Wareham from 4 – 7 PM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne.
