Wareham holds 8th annual health fair

The Town of Wareham held its 8th annual Health Fair for town employees, their families, and the volunteers who participate on town boards and commissions on Monday, May 7.
"Sometimes people are too busy to get the routine testing that could reveal issues with their health," said Health Agent Robert Ethier.
Ethier and the Wareham Board of Health staff sponsor the event every year in May.
Public health nurses contracted by the town's Board of Health were available at the Health Fair for employees to monitor blood glucose, cholesterol, and blood pressure.
"I think that it is important for the employees to know that they are appreciated in town and that they do a good job," Ethier said.
The fair featured free manicures, massages, and plenty of food donated by local businesses.
"It's a chance for employees from all departments in the Town of Wareham to have lunch and to take advantage of all services provided," Ethier noted.
A previous version of this story identified Robert Ethier as the chair of the Board of Health. Ethier is the town's Health Agent. Wareham Week apologizes for this error.
