Library main branch will remain closed for most of November
At the start of October, the main branch of the Wareham Free Library closed for repairs due to the water main break in March that flooded the library's meeting room and the hallway around the circulation area.
According to Library Director Patrick Marshall, although the renovation work was anticipated to be completed by the end of October, the library will remain closed until mid- to late-November — most likely around Thanksgiving.
Marshall said delays in the arrival of materials is the reason for the rescheduling of the library’s opening.
He said he does not believe the delay will affect the cost of the repairs, adding most of the expenses are covered under the library’s flood insurance.
The library’s Spinney Branch, located at 259 Onset Avenue, will remain open for November. This branch is operating under the main library’s typical hours:
Mondays and Thursdays — 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tuesdays and Wednesdays — 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Fridays and Saturdays — 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Marshall said he encourages everyone to come to the library, attend programming, put books on hold and use the computers.
He said, “Come on over to Spinney.”
