Memories of Wareham History Group to meet on July 18

Jun 23, 2012

The newly re-formed Memories of Wareham History Group will meet at the Wareham Free Library's Stone Research Room on July 18 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.

All are welcome to hear a brief history of the major beach area developments and to share recollections, photos and family stories.

Summer and year-round residents of the local beach areas - especially those who are second and third generations of the original owners - are especially encouraged to share information about their families’ history and experiences.

Many lot plans for the beach developments are held by the library and will be available for viewing.

The Memories of Wareham group meets in the Wareham Free Library on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month, 10 a.m. to noon.

There will be no meeting on July 4th.

Each informal meeting focuses on a particular subject of discussion about which participants may either share knowledge or ask questions.

The goal of the group is to provide a way for people with similar interests to share their recollections, stories, and anecdotes with each other, and - most importantly - to preserve those conversations for future generations.
