On Wednesday, May 8 in Wareham District Court, Bianca L. Cruz, 35, of Lowell and Jeremy Menendez, 34 of Nashua, New Hampshire were charged with organized retail crime and with larceny over $1,200, announced Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz.

The charges came after a police investigation discovered products from the Wareham locations of TJ Maxx and Ulta in a vehicle they were driving, said District Attorney Cruz. 

On Tuesday, May 7, Wareham Police responded to a call from an employee at the Ulta Beauty Supply store at 2421 Cranberry Highway. The employee told police a man and a woman entered the store, filled up several bags with perfume and beauty products and left without paying in a green Kia Soul. 

Wareham Police asked law enforcement to watch out for the Kia Soul, and Massachusetts State Police stopped the car on Route 495. According to District Attorney Cruz, police found Bianca Cruz driving the car, and Menendez and an unidentified woman as passengers.

The unidentified woman was the owner of the car, and while police were interviewing her and Menendez, Bianca Cruz drove away from the scene, running over the woman’s foot. She was transported to the hospital for treatment, and is not being identified or charged at this time, said District Attorney Cruz. 

The car and Bianca Cruz were later found in Bridgewater, and she was placed under arrest. Wareham Police searched the car and found over $4,500 in Ulta products and $1,400 in stolen products from TJMaxx, said District Attorney Cruz. 

The two are next scheduled to appear in court on Friday, June 7.
