Early Saturday afternoon, a Wareham Police Department cruiser was involved in a crash while responding to another call. 

The cruiser had lights and sirens activated and was involved in a crash with a minivan at approximately 12:30. The crash took place at Union Avenue and 12th Street in Onset. 

The police officer involved was transported by ambulance from the scene with what were believed to be minor injuries, according to reports. It is unclear whether there were any injuries to the driver of the minivan. 

The Wareham Police Department could not immediately be reached for comment. The Onset Fire Department, when asked for comment, deferred comment to the Police Department.
