Join the Onset Bay Association for the return of Illumination Night on Saturday, July 27 from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

It will take place at Bay View Park, 184 Onset Avenue. Over 1,500 red flares will illuminate Onset Bay. 

There will be live music at the Gazebo with the South Coast Brass Band from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Flares will be lit at 9 p.m. and will burn for approximately 30 minutes. 

The main beach and the bluffs are optimal viewing spots. 

The event is free to enjoy, but volunteers will be accepting donations to keep the event going. 

This year, illumination night is in honor of Sandi Besse. Sandi followed in her family’s entrepreneurial footsteps, combining her love of community and business acumen to build a successful real estate agency, Shell Pointe Real Estate in Onset, which quickly became one of the premier real estate agencies in the area.

Whenever asked, Sandi was always honored to serve her community. She was known for her infectious smile, loving spirit and commitment to the community through volunteerism. Recognized as Wareham Woman of the Year, Sandra’s contribution to Onset will be long remembered. Over the years, she was a member and one of the first Presidents of the Onset Bay Association, Onset Zoning Board, Wareham Finance Committee and Onset Prudential Committee.

The best way to honor Sandi is to "Live like Sandi" with a bright light and kindness towards everyone you meet as she always did.
