Summer programs at the Wareham Free Library

The Wareham Free Library and the Spinney Branch are hosting a variety of summer reading programs for children, teens, and adults in the coming weeks.

Upcoming events include a graphic novel workshop for ages 10 to 16, evening Teddy Bear Storytimes for preschoolers and families, movie nights, Starlab planetarium shows, live animal shows, and more. All events are free and open to the public.

Family Movie, The Wizard of Oz – Wed., July 25, 6 p.m.

Music from Land’s End, Children’s Concert – Thurs., July 26, 11 a.m.

Starlab, Family Planetarium Show (Call library to register) – Tues., July 31, 11 a.m. & 12 p.m.

Graphic Novel Workshop (Ages 10 to 16, call library to register) – Wed., Aug. 1, 6 p.m.

Teen Movie, Summer Wars (Ages 12 to 17) – Thurs., Aug. 2, 6 to 8 p.m.

World of Owls, Family Live Animal Show – Fri., Aug. 3, 1 p.m.

Sparky’s Puppets, Family Puppet Show – Tues., Aug. 7, 11 a.m.

Murders, Mysteries & Manifestations, Local History Presentation by Lynda Ames – Wed., Aug. 8, 6 p.m.

Teddy Bear Storywalk & Picnic, Summer Reading Finale – Thurs., Aug. 9, 11 a.m. (Rain date Aug. 10)

Goldie & the Three Bears, Children’s Play Performance – Fri., Aug. 10, 3 p.m.

 

Due to limited space, some events require pre-registration. Attendees do not have to be enrolled in the library’s summer reading program to attend, however.

It is not too late to join the 100 summer reading program participants of all ages who earn prizes by logging in their reading time online.

To join in the fun, register online by July 28, click on the Dream Big–Read link at www.warehamfreelibrary.org and register and log your reading time each week.
