TONIGHT: Fire engines and a water slide at National Night Out!
The Third Annual National Night Out coordinated by the Wareham Police Department and Target will be held this evening.
The event will kick off with a parade of public safety vehicles from the Onset Pier to Lopes Field at 6 p.m. and will be followed by free food, drinks, and activities for children of all ages at Lopes Field until 9 p.m.
Music will be provided throughout the night by Stephen Lombard of Starlight DJs.
National Night Out is a nationwide celebration to promote neighborhood spirit and public safety community partnerships in the fight for a safer nation, according to a police press release.
Last year, over 15,000 communities from all 50 states presented National Night Out events, with participation of over 37,000,000 people, according to the press release.
The Wareham Police Department is proud to continue partnerships with public safety organizations, businesses, and volunteers to present its version of National Night Out.

-Emergency Vehicle Exhibit
-Waterslide and Moonwalk
-Face Painting
-Special guest, Smokey the Bear
-Wareham Police Quad Ride
-Special exhibition by the Onset Fire Department
The Wareham Police Department invites the community to celebrate National Night Out and the community partnerships that promote safety and prevent the spread of crime and illegal drug activity throughout Wareham.
