Join the Friends of the Dartmouth Libraries on Thursday, March 27, 6:30 p.m. to learn about Living Sustainably with Desa Van Laarhoven, Executive Director & Co-founder of Round the Bend Farm (RTB), a 115-acre working farm and educational non-profit in Dartmouth. Sharing research, best practices, and personal experience, Ms. Van Laarhoven will discuss simple, everyday actions that can make a difference and improve the current and future health of our local environment and community. The presentation will be held at the Southworth Library.
Ms. Van Laarhoven has served as RTB’s Executive Director for over a decade. In that time, RTB has nearly tripled its organic farming acreage, served as the launching pad for several agri-businesses and nonprofit community services, and opened a beautiful, sustainably constructed learning center and event space. Prior to her RTB role, Ms. Van Laarhoven was Executive Director of the Marion Institute, where she oversaw root-cause solutions-based projects and programs focused on sustainability and social justice.
The presentation will be held at the Southworth Library at 732 Dartmouth Street, Dartmouth. For more information, please e-mail fodl.libraries@gmail.com.
