Charity bicycle rides to benefit Dick Melloni Youth Foundation
Foundation Fifty-Five and will be holding charity bicycle rides to benefit programs of the Dick Melloni Youth Foundation.
There will be a 55-mile and a 20-mile loop for adults, and a 1 to 14 mile ride for kids. The rides start at the Cape Cod Canal on Sunday, September 16.
The adult rides start at 8 a.m. and registration costs $40. Riders aged 19 or older are required to raise a minimum of $250 in order to participate. Riders aged 18 and younger are required to raise a minimum of $75. All riders will receive a Jersey for participating.
Riders participating in the 55-mile loop start at the Cape Cod Canal and will make their way around historic Plymouth harbor and Myles Standish State Forest. The ride will the Cape Cod Canal's train bridge for post-ride festivities that include therapeutic massage, prizes, and an all-you-can eat dinner within walking distance of the finish line.
Riders participating in the 20-mile loop will visit the White Cliffs and the historic herring pond run. Riders will also return to the Cape Cod Canal's train bridge to join in the post-ride festivities.
The Family-Fun ride starts at 10 a.m. and registration costs $10. Youth are required to raise a minimum of $25 in order to participate. The ride distance is optional ranging from 1 to 14 miles depending on rider ability
The ride will take place entirely on the Cape Cod Canal. It is suitable for any child that can ride a bike. Parents are welcome to ride along side their registered children. Volunteers will also be spaced out along the canal on bicycle and foot to assist participants.
