The Cape Verdean Cultural Council will be hosting the Annual Cape Verdean Festival this summer.

The Festival will take place on August 9 at the Onset Bandshell on 4 Union Ave. The celebration will last from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. 

There will be around 80 vendors, 20 making Cape Verdean food, some making desserts, and other vendors selling merchandise like t-shirts and jewelry. 

A band will be on stage from 11:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. playing Cape Verdean music. This is a free event.

If needed, the rain date is August 10. 

Speeches will also be made to recognize Cape Verde’s 50th year of independence. Parking is limited, so participants are encouraged to get there earlier for easier parking.
