Paul William Tuomala, 92
WAREHAM - Paul William Tuomala, 92, of West Wareham, passed away on Sept. 4, 2025, at Tobey Hospital. He was the husband of Barbara J. (Schroder) Tuomala. They were married for 71 years. He was the son of the late John W. and Sylvia (Silverberg) Tuomala.
He was born in Wareham and lived there for most of his life.
Mr. Tuomala served in the U.S. Army from 1951 until retiring as a Sergeant First Class in 1971. He was a Korean War Veteran. He was stationed in FORT LEWIS, FORT BLISS, I CORP KOREA, EDGE WOOD ARSENAL, FORT KNOX, STUTTGART ARMY AIRFIELD, EDGEWOOD ARSENAL, LUKE AIR FORCE BASE, 8TH ENGINEER BATTALION, FORT MACARTHUR
After retiring he worked for the Town of Wareham in the Sewer Department. He was a longtime cranberry grower and operated Tuomala Bogs in Lakeville. He was a member of Ocean Spray Cooperative. He had a farm stand at his home selling organic produce. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, smelt fishing, and shell fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara J. (Schroder) Tuomala; a daughter, Paula Tuomala of Deland, FL; 3 sons, John Tuomala of West Wareham, Jeffrey Tuomala of Plymouth and Stephen Tuomala of West Wareham; a sister, Gloria Pierce of Wareham; many grandchildren; many great grandchildren; several nephews and nieces. He was the brother of the late Carol Cramer.
Visiting hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Chapman Funerals & Cremations -WAREHAM, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the
funeral home.
