June (Doherty) Vita, 79, died Sunday, April 18th, 2010, at her home in Wareham after a long illness. She was the wife of Richard "Dick" C. Vita.

Born in Medford, the daughter of the late James E. & Alice (Lamonthe) Doherty, she graduated from Medford High School. A previous resident of Stoughton, she moved to Wareham as a year-round resident in 2003.

Mrs. Vita was a supportive confidant and caring, true friend who enjoyed socializing and spending time with her family. She loved the beach and being outdoors.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Robin Andreotti, of Hopedale, and Renee Anderson, of Easton; her son, Richard Vita, of Mansfield, and eight grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, the late James Doherty.

Her funeral service will be held on Friday, April 23 at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham at 1 p.m. Interment will be in the Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours have been omitted.
