Georgia C. Decas, 98

Georgia C. (Fotinos) Decas, 98, of Wareham died Dec. 24, in the Sippican Health Care Center, Marion. She was the widow of the late Charles J. Decas.

She was born in Palamari Greece on March 7, 1914, the 14th child and youngest of the late George and Katharina (Patsavos) Fotinos. She married her husband in 1933 and moved to Wareham, where she raised her family and remained throughout her life.

Mrs. Decas was an 80-year member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Dartmouth, and a member of the St. George Philoptochos Society. She was a member of the Wareham Garden Club, Tobey Hospital Guild, and the Monday Club.

Her interests included needlepoint, crocheting, knitting, sewing, and embroidery. She enjoyed working in her garden and was a gourmet cook.

Mrs. Decas was a devoted homemaker and her greatest enjoyment in life was her family, home, friends, and church.

Survivors include her children, John C. Decas, William C. Decas, George C. Decas, and Katharina C. Decas all of Wareham; 2 grandchildren, Alexandra Decas of Studio City, CA, and Dean J. Decas of Wareham. She was the grandmother of the late Harry Decas and Joseph Decas.

Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29, at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 186 Cross Rd., Dartmouth. Burial will follow in Centre Cemetery, Wareham.  Visiting hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway, Wareham.
