Looks Unlimited starts new year with new location

Jan 14, 2013

Main Street salon Looks Unlimited kicked off the new year with new services and a move to a new space.

The 137 Main Street location is just a quick walk from the salon's former home across the street, and owner Tina Campanario calls the new place "a dream."

Visitors to the salon would never guess that the building previously housed doctors' offices.

The knotty pine walls, calming interior colors, and Campanario's addition of an electric fireplace give the salon and spa a relaxing atmosphere.

"It's so beautiful and so homey," Campanario said, admiring her new digs.

Campanario, a Rochester resident, has spent nearly 30 years doing hair, and says her clients make the job a joy to go to each day.

"They're my friends," she said, clarifying: "They're family. … I've never stopped enjoying what I do."

Campanario says customers can expect some other new things in 2013. New to the salon is Jessica Kedski, a licensed esthetician offering eyelash extensions and facials. Staff will soon complete training to offer hair extensions.

Despite the newness of it all, Campanario says lots will be staying the same, such as prices — including the $15 men's haircut, which has remained that price for 25 years.

"I have to do what my customers can afford," Campanario noted.

Looks Unlimited will host a grand opening for the new location on Feb. 9 from 1 to 5 p.m. Main Street's Piper's Restaurant will offer food, and the Jug Shop will host a wine tasting at the salon. The community is invited to attend, and Campanario is offering $10 off services booked that day.

It's a celebration, Campanario says: "New location, new beginning!"
