Bernadette M. “Honey” (Kennedy) Young, 68, of East Wareham, passed away Jan. 23, peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Thomas D. Young. They were married for 46 years.

Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Harold B. and M. Bernadette (Austin) Kennedy. A previous resident of Florida, Mrs. Young moved to Wareham in 1996.

Mrs. Young worked for many years as a secretary, and was formally employed at Pro-Cuts in Wareham. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, her daughter, Sandra Young of East Wareham; her granddaughter, Brandy Young of East Wareham; her sister, Michelle Davies of St. Petersburg, FL; her brothers, Edward Kennedy of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Stephen Kennedy of Dorchester, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Scott Young; two sisters, Carol Davies and Patricia Fletcher, and her brothers, Russell Kennedy and Bernie Kennedy.

Her funeral will be from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham on Mon., Jan. 28th at 8:00 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church, High St., Wareham at 9:00 AM. Interment will be in Centre Cemetery, Wareham. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 6 – 9 PM.
