Wareham democrats to hold caucus
Democrats in Wareham will host their annual caucus at the Wareham Free Library on Feb. 23 at 10 a.m. to elect 11 delegates and three alternates for the Mass. Democratic Convention.
Any registered democrat, age 18 or older, can attend the caucus and run for a position.
This year's Convention will be held Saturday, July 13, at the Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell. Delegates will debate and adopt the party's platform for the next four years.
Candidates for delegates and alternates should be present at the caucus and consent to nomination in writing, through candidates may have their names submitted in unable to attend if a sufficient number of members are not present.
Candidates may make a two-minute statement and distribute materials.
Anyone not elected as delegate or alternate delegate may apply to be "add-on" delegates in the following categories: youth (age 35 and below), minority, and disabled.
