¡Ándale! Cinco de Mayo 5K raises money for Kiwanis Club

May 7, 2023

Marion resident Ian Glavin was the last runner to start the Kiwanis Club of Bourne-Wareham’s annual Cinco de Mayo 5K race on Sunday, May 7.

However, a late start didn’t stop Glavin from finishing in first place.

“It feels good [to win], but it’s overshadowed by how tired I am,” Glavin said.

The race took runners through the forest and cranberry bogs of the A.D. Makepeace Company’s Tihonet Road property.

Runners raced to raise money for the Kiwanis Club’s community service and youth educational programs in Wareham, Bourne and elsewhere on Cape Cod.

The race was sponsored by A.D. Makepeace, Wells Fargo and Robertson's GMC.
