‘Anything chocolate’: Trick-or-Treaters take over Main street
The chilly weather did not stop trick-or-treaters from taking over Main street on Oct. 28. Businesses along Main Street opened their doors for video game characters, creepy clowns, and princesses.
The annual event sparked joy for many, especially for event organizer Tracy McGraw of the Wareham Village Association.
“It’s all about the kids,” said McGraw. “Everyone loves it, that's what makes us continue to do this,” she said.
From farm animals to plague doctors, the streets were lined with ghosts and ghouls awaiting candy.
The favorite candy this year was Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups—but as one trick-or-treater Sophia Meberg put it, “anything chocolate is good,” she said.
Sweet treats were a favorite theme of the evening, as the winning scarecrow of the annual contest was Neapolitan ice cream themed from Gone Country Creamery.
Some treaters brought on their spooky A-game, like plague doctor and undertaker Tayvonne Degrace and Edward Debeck.
The pair were decked out in masks and robes. They even had a toy blood filled syringe to complete the look.
“We bring death,” said Degrace.
