‘Give a Pint, Get a Pound’ extended through February 4

Jan 31, 2011

Southcoast Blood Bank’s annual promotion, “Give a Pint, Get a Pound,” has been extended through Friday, Feb. 4, 2011.

Anyone who donates blood at the Southcoast Blood Bank at St. Luke’s Hospital or at any Southcoast Blood Bank site or blood drive, through Friday, Feb. 4, 2011 will receive a certificate for a free pound of Dunkin’ Donuts coffee. Coupons are redeemable at participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants while supplies last.

Southcoast Hospitals and the Southcoast Centers for Cancer Care in Fall River and Dartmouth use approximately 1,300 pints of blood a month but collect less than a third of that amount. The Southcoast Blood Bank is here for emergencies, for patients with cancer and other serious illnesses and for patients having surgery.

The Southcoast Blood Bank at St. Luke’s Hospital is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., or call 508-961-5320 to make an appointment.

The Southcoast Health Van hosts blood drives throughout the region. The schedule can be found online at www.southcoast.org/van or by calling 508-679-7131.
