1st half was a nail-biter, Vikings top Fairhaven, 66-38
After clinching their 4th consecutive South Coast Conference championship last week, the Wareham boys varsity basketball team overcame a sluggish first half on Tuesday before coming alive in the second half to run away from Fairhaven, 66-38.
"It was probably our worst half of the year. . .no, it was definitely our worst half of the year," said Coach Kevin Brogioli after the game. He said his team came out in the second half and played their normal game, and it showed as the Vikings smothered the Fairhaven team with pressure defense while building on a slim halftime lead to win by 28.
The Vikings were paced by strong outside shooting by Pat Murphy and Jordan Rezendes, while Ryan Pina played his usual strong inside game.
The boys team has two regular season games remaining with Case on Friday, Feb. 12, and Bourne on Tuesday, Feb. 16.
