Alan Joseph Bertozzi, Sr., of Dorchester, died Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at Boston Medical Center unexpectedly.

Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Aldo and Annie Bertozzi. He has been a resident at Cushing Manor in Dorchester for several years. He formerly worked as a roofer.

Alan loved food, especially bologna and cheese sandwiches. He would not leave home without his signature black leather jacket and scally cap, and if he did not like you, you certainly knew it. He loved calling his daughters by their nicknames, “Dolly Donna” and “Loopty Linda.” His family will miss his crazy sense of humor.

He is survived by his daughters, Donna Waterman and Linda Bertozzi both of Wareham, 6 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, the late Alan Bertozzi, Jr.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 3, 2021 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations  - Wareham, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rt. 28), Wareham at 1 p.m.
