Albert A. DeGregorio, Jr., 83

Feb 16, 2023

Albert A. DeGregorio, Jr., 83 of Wareham passed away at the Falmouth Hospital on February 14, 2023.

As a young man Al was a proud member of the U.S. Air Force. After being honorably discharged from the Air Force he worked at the Charlestown Naval Shipyard and later transitioned over to the Army Corp of Engineers where he served many years as an electrician on the Cape Cod Canal. He held that position until he retired in 1994.

Al was a Life Member of the Wareham-New Bedford Lodge of Elks and lived a life emblematic of the motto “Elks Care - Elks Care”. On most mornings he could be seen enjoying a cup of coffee and donut with his friends, known affectionately as “The West Wareham Dunkin Donuts Old Timers Group”.  After listening to the group discuss the issues of the day, he would slowly get up from his chair to leave stating “Well, I learned enough today”. That was Al’s favorite saying.

He was the son of the late Albert A. and Natalie V. (Miraglia) DeGregorio of East Boston and the husband of the late Judith (Ashley) DeGregorio. He was also the father of the late Christopher DeGregorio of Wareham and the brother of the late William J. DeGregorio of Tewksbury.

He is survived by his former spouse Joanna (Lewis) DeGregorio of Pembroke and his daughter Lisa and her husband Peter Trask of Pembroke and son Bryan and his wife Lauren (Woods) DeGregorio of Bourne. He is also survived by his brother Ronald and his wife Susan (Toll) DeGregorio of Salem, NH, his brother Daniel DeGregorio of Wareham, seven grandchildren, Zachary, Abbey, Ethan, Logan, Amber, Austin, and Kaia and many nieces and nephews.

Al loved his family and lived a life worth living. Funeral services will be private at Al’s request.
