Anita Plourde, 92

Anita Rita Plourde, 92, of Wareham, died Sunday, March 3, at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford.  She was the wife of the late Bernard Arthur Plourde.

Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Aime and Anna (Bourgeos) Goguen. She lived in New Bedford until she was 90 years old when she moved to Wareham. Mrs. Plourde worked as an inserter for the Standard-Times until she retired.

She was a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church in Wareham.

Survivors include her two sons, Robert R. Plourde and his wife Suzanne M. Avtges of Wareham, and Peter R. Plourde and his wife Julia (Davis) Plourde of Temple, New Hampshire; her sisters, Rita Freitas of New Bedford, Theresa Fuller of Waukee, Iowa, and Lorraine King of Dartmouth; her grandchildren, Hannah Plourde, Sarah Plourde, Anna Plourde and Matthew Brandwein, Julie and Owen Thatcher, Christopher Plourde and Jane Fallon, Jonathan and Allison Plourde; four great grandchildren, Olivia and Benjamin Plourde, Galaxy Thatcher, and Nathaniel Brandwein.

Her funeral will be from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway, Wareham on Saturday, March 9 at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony’s Church, Gault Road, West Wareham at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Bedford. Visiting hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
