Ann Bernadine (Gilmore) Miranda, 86, of Wareham, died February 3 at home with her family after a long illness. She was the widow of the late Everett Miranda and the daughter of the late Philip and Mary (Beaton) Gilmore.

She was born in Brockton on August 20, 1928 and lived there for many years before retiring to Onset. She graduated from Brockton High School and attended Fitchburg State College.

Mrs. Miranda worked in the family grocery store, Gilmore’s Market on Montello Street in Brockton for many years. Ann loved the holidays and enjoyed decorating her home.

Survivors include her children, Philip Miranda and his wife Beth of Spring, Texas; Beth Caron and her husband Ben of Conway and Sue Callow of Wareham; a brother, Philip Gilmore of Onset; and two sisters, Belle Gilmore and Ellen Lehane and her husband Tim, all of East Bridgewater. Ann felt very blessed with her grandchildren, Mike and Michelle Miranda, Jason and Rosalinda Miranda, Adam Caron, Renee and Kyle Murphy and Tommy Callow; nine great-grandchildren; many loving nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Ann Marie Miranda and grandmother of the late Samantha Marie Callow.

Her funeral will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7 from the Chapman, Cole Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, Onset.

Visiting hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Courtney Ann Bartos Memorial Fund, 57 Lee Rd., South Deerfield, MA 01373. This foundation is in memory of Kyle’s cousin Courtney who had Cerebral Palsy. The family feels it honors Ann Marie and Mom also.
