WAREHAM – Anne Marie (Blondin) Hunter, 93, of West Wareham, passed away on December 16, 2023, at home. She was the wife of the late Charles E. Hunter and the daughter of the late Alphonse and Jane (Smithers) Blondin. She was the sister of the late Edmund Blondin.

Mrs. Hunter was born in Boston and grew up in the Roslindale section of the city. She graduated from Boston public schools and received an associate degree in accounting from Cape Cod Community College. She spent summers in Wareham and met her husband there. They married in 1950 and settled and raised their family in West Wareham.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister and also taught Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD). She also volunteered for the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Mrs. Hunter worked as a tax preparer in Wareham for many years before retiring.

She enjoyed playing Scrabble, gardening, and was a member of a Senior Bicycle Club. Her family was her treasure, and her grandchildren were the light and joy of her life.

Survivors include 3 sons, David Hunter and his wife Barbara of Wareham, Charles Hunter and his wife Kristine of Norton, and Bruce Hunter and his wife Beverly of Palm Coast, FL; 4 daughters, Mary Anne Doyon of Clearwater, FL, Janet Hunter and her husband Jeff Skaros of Glendale, WI, Barbara Spinney and her husband John Spinney of Norfolk, and Nancy Corliss and her husband Jordan Busch of Wayland; 18 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; many nephews and nieces.

Visiting hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – WAREHAM, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham.

Her funeral will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, December 22, 2023 from Chapman Funerals & Cremations- WAREHAM, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 94 High St., Wareham. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to Southcoast VNA, 200 Mill Rd., Fairhaven, MA 02719.
