Art Association raises money for students at holiday sale

Dec 7, 2018

The Bourne Wareham Art Association began its annual holiday sale on Dec. 7 with a variety of works from local artists on display.

According to Show Chairman Charles Wood, the event featured contributions from 10 of the association’s artists across a wide array of mediums including paintings and photography.

“We have pretty much everything but sculpture,” he said. “So we’re hopeful that our visitors will each find something they like.”

A portion of all sales from the show will go toward the association’s Annual Scholastic Art Awards Fund, which helps support high school seniors in both communities.

Proceeds from a raffle of a 1976 painting valued at $1,500 would also go toward the fund, said Wood.

“We’ve had to reduce the size of our awards to students in years past,” Wood said. “So we’re looking to bring more people in this year.”
