Baby talk
Event Date:
To help get babies communicating, the Wareham Free Library is starting a four week series to teach babies sign language.
The series will begin Tuesday, May 6 at 11 a.m. and will be led by Sheryl White of BabyKneads, an organization dedicated to helping parents communicate with their babies.
According to White, teaching babies sign language gives them the ability to express themselves before they can speak verbally, accelerating spoken language, deepens the bond between adult and child and enhances early literacy skills.
Attendees will learn how to teach their baby how to sign, watch the instructor interact and demonstrate signing with a baby, and learn new signs with handouts.
This program is for care-givers with preverbal babies and toddlers. Both child and caregiver participate in the program.
Program is free but registration is required at www.warehamfreelibrary.org.
